Well, Windows Defender has grown over the years since its introduction in Windows 8 and later versions. Well, there are many antivirus solutions available in the market which can give better protection to Microsoft’s default Windows Defender. The reason why we are talking about Antivirus solutions is that security institute AV-Test have performed a new research in the month of March and April to test the best antivirus available in the market. AV-Test had evaluated different antivirus solutions in three categories: Protection, Performance, and Usability. Each category comprise of six points making it the maximum total of 18 points. You will be surprised to know that Kaspersky and Avira Antivirus had only scored the full points by scoring 6 points each in all three categories. Making it the final total of 18 points. The next in the list was Trend Micro, Symantec, and Bitdefender with a total of 17.5 points each. They all got 6 points in Protection and performance whereas scored 5.5 points in usability tests. Avast security had managed to score 16 points and ESET scored 15.5 points. The most depressing thing is that Microsoft’s very own Windows Defender have scored only 15 points – 4.5 for Protection, 4.5 for Performance and 6 points for Usability.
